Sorting only works on the results page actively being viewed and doesn't account for other pages in results. Other features are neat, but adding a sort function for the entirety of a category was my goal. Closest I've gotten though. If you do a search for a term and it has multiple pages of results will also fail to sort subsequent pages (While the normal drop-down sort built into the site still will). I imagine it might be a step up to actually parse the content of the site to sort properly, so good job either way as I'm sure other have gotten more use out of the other features.
