YouTube audit project

YoutubeCapture is a Chrome extension developed for the purpose of investigating YouTube's search and recommendation algorithm in surfacing politically biased content related to US Elections 2020. The plugin collects data by automatically opening YouTube, watching videos (muted), saving recommendations, searching, and saving search results. The collected data is sent to the backend server for analysis. The plugin is designed to collect data for three weeks and does not track user activity on YouTube.
