Features & Capabilities

JSONView is a handy Chrome extension that formats and highlights JSON documents directly in your browser. It transforms raw JSON text into a clean, easy-to-read layout, allowing users to collapse arrays and objects for better navigation and clarity. Even if the JSON contains errors, JSONView ensures that the raw text is still visible, making it invaluable for developers and data professionals.

While Firefox includes a built-in JSON viewer, JSONView offers a customizable alternative that enhances readability and user experience. Simply install JSONView and visit JSON document links to see formatted, highlighted JSON instantly. This tool streamlines the process of inspecting JSON data without the need for external software or online tools.

As of the recent update I've noticed a rather breaking change. My API returns json with very small numbers: eg "transform": [ 4.371139e-8, 1.080646e-7, ] As of the recent update, this now shows up as: "transform" [ 4, 1 ] Which is totally wrong, if you round to 0 it would be more acceptable, but rounding to 4 and 1 in this case is totally wrong and actually caused me to have a panic attack this morning thinking all our data was suddenly corrupt. Could you please provide a patch fix for this soon, as I love the other features of this plugin. EDIT: looks like you already noticed: https://github.com/bhollis/jsonview/commit/a6692b8d20b6d88524395887e66e25ee7757e2bd 41 minutes ago haha

Is JSONView Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

JSONView requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
