Lost pieces are revived.

This shogi app brings back pieces lost throughout history to the game.

A new kind of shogi app featuring ancient pieces such as the Drunken Elephant and the Crown Prince.

【Special Pieces】

Drunken Elephant (Suizō):
Can move one square in each of the seven directions: forward, diagonally forward, left, right, and diagonally backward. Cannot move directly backward.
Can be promoted to Crown Prince when it enters the opponent's territory (top 3 ranks).

Crown Prince (Taishi):
Like the King, can move one square in all eight directions. A more powerful "second king" than the King.

While the Crown Prince is on the board, you do not lose even if the King is captured. You lose when the Crown Prince is captured (or checkmated).

Kirin (Kirin):
Can move one square diagonally in four directions and jump two squares vertically and horizontally in four directions (Chu Shogi rules).
Can be promoted to Lion when it enters the opponent's territory.

Lion (Shishi): Performs the King's movement twice in one turn.

Phoenix (Hōō): Can move 1 square vertically and horizontally, and 2 squares diagonally (according to the rules of Chūshōgi).

Can be promoted to Run King upon entering the opponent's territory.

Run King (Hon'ō): Can slide in any direction in 8 directions (same as a chess queen).

[Special Rules]

Special pieces do not become hand pieces.
In regular shogi, all captured pieces can be used as hand pieces, but in Genshōgi, the following pieces do not become hand pieces even if captured:

Drunken Elephant/Crown Prince: Disappears from the board upon capture.

Kirin/Lion: Disappears from the board upon capture.

Phoenix/Run King: Disappears from the board upon capture.

King: Disappears from the board upon capture.

*Similar to chess, these pieces cannot be reused. This rule is adopted because they would be too powerful if they could be played again.

【Game Modes】

The special piece in front of the King can be selected for each game.

Random: Automatically selected from the above 3 + other types

【How Winners Are Determined】

Without Crown Prince: Win by checkmating the opponent's King
With Crown Prince: Win by checkmating the opponent's Crown Prince
Time Out: Lose when time runs out
Perpetual Check: Draw if the same position is repeated 4 times
