Pros

Convenient for cashless payments in Japan
Useful in many convenience stores and some supermarkets
Offers VAT/sales tax reduction paybacks and points

Cons

Requires multiple Rakuten apps to use the service
Does not support many phone models, including Samsung and OnePlus
Application frequently crashes or does not start

the only thing i don't like is that you have to fill your phone with rakuten apps to use the service. in pay pay only one app. Rakuten should think carefully about this issue.

I use it all the time for cashless payments in Japan because it may have the most reach (but Pay Pay is coming up strong). I can use it in all convenience stores and some supermarkets. I get VAT/sales tax reduction paybacks and points too. I generally charge it with cash in convenience stores.
