The app offers rich Calvin commentary and easy navigation, making it a strong Bible-study tool. Users praise the depth and usefulness of the content and its free availability. However, pervasive ads, overly sensitive swipe/scroll behavior, and occasional stability issues (including Android 12 compatibility) detract from the experience. Fixing the ads UX and performance would significantly improve usability without sacrificing the valuable content.

Recent reviews

The swipe gestures are far too sensitive. Whilst scrolling, it is very easy to accidentally flip to the next or previous chapter. Not only does this reset your reading progress, but it will often also trigger an ad. Unlike other Calvin's commentary apps, the ads are not banner ads or pop-up images but 15-second video ads. This happens so often that by the time I'd read the section on Galatians 5:1-3, I'd accidentally triggered 3 separate 15-second ads. At this point, I uninstalled the app.

Really good but I do have trouble with the scrolling as it jumps t the next chapter often. However, it's worth it for it's content to read the thoughts of such a great man of God, Calvin.
