Change the response content type to force documents to open in or outside the browser window or in a special view mode (PDF, XML...)
Modify Content-Type: Control Your Content Display In Browser
'Modify Content-Type' is a Chrome extension in beta phase, designed to let you manipulate the Content-Type and Content-Disposition HTTP header fields of incoming documents. You can force your browser to display the document or offer it as a download, or override unknown mime types with common ones like 'application/pdf' or 'application/xml'. It helps when handling documents from misconfigured servers.

Works.
Just be sure you know you regexes, and everything that needs to be escaped (like '+'), or the rule won't match.
