2023-05-31 | I tried the TagAssistant extension with my SPA (React), but it didn't meet my expectations. While GA DebugView worked well, TagAssistant froze frequently and showed numerous unhandled errors in the console. Disappointing experience overall.
2023-05-03 | As i don't see any other way for reporting bugs: We used to debug our GTM in the iframe with this chrome plugin being enabled. For debugging we just opened the parent page and the iframe showed up. For a week now this doesn't work anymore. For the iframe-gtm we do get an error message "tag not found". I tried the legacy plugin: Tag Assistant Legacy (by Google) and here we can debug the iframe as we used to. Please have a look at this. I really liked the new tag assistant companion plugin.
2023-03-27 | My Tags were not found but it says connected.. :(
2022-12-08 | It's a fine extension that improves the latest version of the GTM preview mode. Most of the negative reviews here are not related directly to the extension. They are rather unhappy with the way the latest GTM preview mode works (different browser tab, etc.). But this was an inevitable change knowing that the previous version relied on 3rd party cookies.
2022-11-22 | I almost didn't download this but then read some of the positive reviews. It works great. My G analytics says tags are not connect. But this extension is reporting on actions I take in the website. Simple fast tool. Now I have to figure out why Analytics is not connecting.
2022-08-10 | No se conecta con la web.
2022-07-25 | Absolutely useless, when it connects. Even more useless when it's not connecting.
2022-07-06 | I think there are a few misunderstandings here :) 1. This extension only provides the additional features as it says on the tin (description). So if you don't need those, you probably don't need this extension. 2. Tag Assistant works without this, this extension is NOT what provides its core feature set.
2022-06-09 | Very useful for development, QA as well as for stakeholders/data engineers to verify work. We installed the extension, then clicked on it in the extensions bar. The tag manager page opened and asked for us to pop in a domain. I really appreciated that my local dev environment was able to be entered and tracked. Once the tag manager had launched a new tab with my environment in it, I could click around and engage in our site and ensure that data we were tracking was being reported by clicking over into the tag manager tab and inspecting the events. Each event in each of the properties is displayed with a lot of different bits of information. I was able to see the custom dimensions configured, the various events reported in GA4, UA, as well as AdWords and DS3. Our QA department was then able to test in their environments once our builds went out, and our analysts were able to compare what was being reported in the tag manager with what they're seeing in Analytics, which is even more helpful for tweaking and creating tracking events. It's sad so many people didn't bother to read the docs. This tag assistant is WAY better than the old clunky Legacy tag assistant. Way more clear, way more elegant. Great functionality, and operates just as the docs describe.
2022-05-05 | Just brings you to Tag Manager? Useless addition
2022-04-21 | The extension doesnt server a purpose. What is the functionality meant to achieve? It takes you to https://tagassistant.google.com/ and nothing else?
2022-04-13 | No Funciona
2022-03-21 | This extension gets 1 star from other reviewers because they're confused about what it does. It's probably Google's fault for naming it "tag assistant companion" which is way too similar to the extension it replaces, which worked in a very different way. If you use Google Tag Manager this extension simply makes "preview" or debug mode more powerful. That's what it does. It's a behind-the-scenes extension and it isn't meant to be "clicked on" as the legacy tag assistant was.
