I've had four different HP Laptops since 2015. This Extension has never once helped me. I've tried using it apx once every two weeks making that an apx total of 210 times and not once has it identified the problem. Do you realize the statistics of those numbers 0 for 210? That's not a problematic extension. That's not a non working bad extension. It's not an extension. HP used to make/support this and they gave up. I uninstalled it. (I was keeping track for my own amusement). Someone else took it over. It was downloaded back onto my computer without my consent or knowledge. HP must have some say in this after all they're using the HP name. That should be illegal! HP not only has never owned up to their warranty and nor helped me one single time they allow a developer to hack my computer and place this useless extension back on my system. No wonder why it went from working barely, very badly to not working at all. I assume by the illegal redownload of this extension it's corrupt or Malware and you remove it from your PC better yet if you haven't gotten this extension yet DONT!

Yeah, if you have downloaded this extension already, i suggest removing it, if you haven't and are questioning whether you should, DON'T!
Now I can't say for certain that this extension is the cause, but it's pretty strange how immediately after downloading it, my default browser continuously changes from "Google" to "Yahoo!" and every time I change it back to Google, it's not long before it's changed right back to Yahoo!.(If you're wondering, that means my laptop is infected with adware which is typically brought about from an extension and will be removed, hopefully, once you remove said extension). So I will definitely be removing this extension and seriously questioning HP.(Although some of you have said, "It's not HP, its Google" when answering other peoples concerns on the extension, let me ask you this, if its Google that is the problem here, then why would the extension change the default browser FROM Google to Yahoo!? That would be the dumbest marketing plan, but hey, I could be wrong there.¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Extension safety
Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk
impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of
damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your
personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they
do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
HP Network Check Launcher requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Chrome extension may turn malicious.
This is determined by the publisher and the Chrome extension reputation on
Chrome Web Store, the amount of time the Chrome extension has been
around, and other signals about the
Chrome extension. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change
as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always
exercise caution when installing a Chrome extension.
HP Network Check Launcher has earned a fairly good reputation and likely can be trusted.
