Bookmark All

Extends chrome's bookmark all tabs feature across all open windows.

Bookmark All is a lightweight Chrome extension that enhances the native 'Bookmark all Tabs' feature by extending its functionality across all open browser windows. Instead of bookmarking tabs window-by-window, this tool allows you to save every open tab from every window into a single organized folder, created under 'Other Bookmarks'. The default folder is named using the ISO 8601 Short date format, making it easy to track your bookmark sessions.

Designed for simplicity and efficiency, just click the extension icon, select your desired folder, and instantly capture all your browsing sessions. This open source project ensures transparency and invites contributions, available on GitHub via the extension's details page. Ideal for users who manage multiple windows and tabs, Bookmark All streamlines your bookmarking workflow.

User reviews

Users find Bookmark All to be a great time-saving extension for bookmarking all open tabs quickly and reliably. It is especially appreciated for saving sessions and resuming browsing later. However, common requests include improved organization features like saving tabs from separate windows into separate folders, adding time to folder names to avoid duplication, and increasing compatibility. Some users face issues with the extension not working in Chromium or certain configurations and desire more folder location options. Overall, the extension fulfills its purpose well but could be enhanced with better folder management and compatibility improvements.
Pros
  • Saves time by bookmarking all open tabs at once, preventing the need to bookmark each tab individually.
  • Works as described, reliable and easy to use.
  • Useful for saving browsing sessions and resuming later, especially when switching between work and home.
  • Automatically creates date-named folders for bookmarks, which helps with organization.
  • Supports multiple browsers including Chrome and Yandex Browser.
Cons
  • Lacks the option to save bookmarks from multiple windows into separate subfolders or folders, making organization difficult for users with many windows.
  • Folder naming only includes date but not time, causing confusion when multiple bookmark sets are saved on the same day.
  • Incompatibility issues with Chromium or other configurations, causing the extension not to work properly for some users.
  • No option to change default save folder location easily.
  • The extension sometimes does not open outside the history tab or has problematic behavior.

I used it a few months ago when it looked like I needed to switch from Google Chrome to the related Chromium. However, it appears not to work properly in Chromium; so difficult to use the tool to help me switch back again now a newer version of Google Chrome is finally available on my system.
