JDA Integration Firefox

JDA Integration

Intercepts browser downloads and sends authenticated request details to JDA(Jyotismoy's Download Accelerator), which is a download manager written in Rust backend, increasing download speeds.

Features & Capabilities

The JDA Browser Extension is the official companion for JDA (Jyotismoy's Download Accelerator), a high-performance download manager written in Rust backend. It intercepts browser downloads and routes them directly to the JDA desktop app for multi-threaded acceleration.

How it Works

When you click a download link, this extension catches the request, captures the necessary authentication details (like cookies, referer, and user-agent), and hands them off silently in the background to the native JDA client. The JDA desktop engine then takes over, downloading the file in parallel chunks to maximize your bandwidth.

Key Features

  • Silent Interception: Seamlessly redirects new downloads in the background using a local web server connection.
  • On/Off Toggle: Turn the accelerator on or off instantly via a clean extension popup interface.
  • Deep Link Fallback: Standard custom protocol (jda://) integration to trigger JDA even if the local server is temporarily unreachable.
  • Privacy First: All data is processed locally. Zero data collection or external transmission.

Prerequisites

To use this extension, you must have the JDA desktop client installed on your machine. Learn more and get the installer here: https://github.com/JyotismoyKalita/JDA

Is JDA Integration Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

JDA Integration requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

JDA Integration is recently added, and hasn't been around long enough for us to gather enough data to accurately assess its risk level.
