You will travel through time too! Since the app is a scientific visualization of the huge amount of results achieved by ANDRILL (ANtarctic geological DRILLing www.andrill.org) an international and integrated paleoclimatic research.

CLAST shows the evolution in the last 150.000 years, of the environment in the area of the Ross Sea as it has been reconstructed by scientists and as a reaction to the climate changes. The movement of the ice shelf, the fluxes of glaciers and their sediments. At the same time it shows the deposition of sediments taking place in a specific place, the drilling site of the research.

CLAST it’s a complete educational tool too. The student and teacher worksheets (freely downloadable on the app website) help to adopt it immediately in the classroom during science lessons. Students can explore autonomously the relations among the different elements of the environment and grasp the methods adopted by ANDRILL scientists.
