BioCuba App

BioCuba App is an innovative application designed to support Cuban coffee producers participating in the biocubacaffe project. This application allows users to monitor accumulated points, usable for the purchase of essential goods. In addition, the app offers the possibility of accessing updated news about the project and checking the history of purchases made.

The biocubacaffe project, launched in collaboration with the Lavazza Foundation, promotes biodiversity and the growth of local communities through the valorization of coffee crops, making them more productive and resilient. It involves 170 producers from 9 municipalities in Cuba, members of the Slow Food Coffee Coalition. This initiative represents a virtuous collaboration between the Lavazza Foundation, the Cuban Ministry of Agriculture, Slow Food Cuba, GAF (Agroforestry Business Group) and AICEC Torino (Agency for Cultural and Economic Exchange with Cuba).

The Slow Food Coffee Coalition includes 29 Slow Food Communities related to coffee production in 9 countries around the world. In eight of these communities, a certification process for good, clean and fair coffee has been initiated through the Participatory Guarantee System, an evaluation mechanism shared between producers and stakeholders, based on jointly established standards and procedures. .

BioCuba App represents an important tool for Cuban coffee producers, facilitating point management and providing crucial information for their daily work.
