Scudo Telemarketing

Scudo Telemarketing is a call filter designed to reduce spam, telemarketing, and unwanted calls without sacrificing privacy.

Scudo doesn't just block more calls: it helps you understand what's happening, choose the right level of protection, and monitor the numbers arriving on your phone. The main rules work on your device, so the app remains readable, configurable, and more conservative in its data usage.

With Scudo, you can:
- block telemarketing, anonymous numbers, foreign numbers, personal blacklists, and other suspicious categories;
- set each filter as Allowed, Second Pass, or Blocked;
- create personal lists of allowed or blocked numbers and area codes;
- choose the filter order;
- use the Anti-Spam Scale to quickly increase the level of protection;
- verify a number and see which rule would be applied;
- consult an internal log with the reason for the block and a more detailed number profile.

Shared Spam
If you choose to enable it, Scudo can strengthen the local filter using spam signals already present in the Call Log and a shared dataset.
In manual mode, the app displays a verification screen before sending. In automatic mode, the dataset updates in the background.
Numbers are not sent in clear text: on the device, they are transformed into unreadable hashes, along with a score.

Assisted Protection
Scudo also includes Assisted Protection, a feature designed to help up to three trusted people maintain active protection. You can use a protected or trusted mode and share status, recommended level, SYNC, and a controlled log, without sharing your address book or raw call log.

Long-term Protection
If suspicious Italian numbers continue to arrive, Scudo may suggest checking or renewing your subscription to the Public Opposition Registry.

Privacy
- the main filter works offline;
- the address book is not shared;
- numbers are not sent in clear text;
- shared spam is optional;
- Assisted Protection does not share contacts or raw call logs.

Required Permissions
- Call Filter: To block unwanted calls and phone spam;
- Call Log: For shared spam, to strengthen local filtering, and for Assisted Protection summary metadata;
- Contacts: To avoid blocking numbers saved in the address book.
