Watermelon TokTok is an app designed to assist you during those moments when it is difficult to determine if a watermelon is ripe based on its appearance alone, such as when choosing one at a supermarket or market. By taking a photo of the watermelon with your smartphone camera and recording the sound of tapping it, the app analyzes both pieces of information to provide a score indicating its ripeness.

Usage is simple. On the home screen, select one of the options—Sweetness Preference, Crispness Preference, or Both—and press the measurement button to open the real-time camera screen. Align the side of the watermelon with the circular guide on the screen to take a photo, followed by separate photos of the stem and the navel. You can skip items you do not need. Once the photo capture is complete, the next step involves recording the sound of lightly tapping the watermelon; this step can also be omitted if desired.

After the analysis is finished, you can view a score out of 100 and a one-line summary on the results screen. You can also see a bar graph showing how much weight each of the five factors—stripes contrast, stem dryness, navel condition, shape symmetry, and tapping sound—was given to the judgment. You can save results you like to review later, and you can also create result card images to share directly via KakaoTalk or other social media platforms.

After reviewing the results, you can leave feedback by selecting "Superior," "Average," or "Less Than Good" to indicate whether the watermelon was actually delicious, and assigning a star rating. This accumulated feedback will be used to further refine our evaluation criteria.

Watermelon Toktok’s evaluation is the result of analyzing five elements—stripes contrast, stem dryness, navel color and size, shape symmetry, and tapping sound—based on long-standing watermelon selection knowledge. However, it is difficult to perfectly determine internal sugar content based solely on photos and sound, and results may vary depending on environmental factors such as lighting, angle, and ambient noise during filming. Therefore, please accept this score not as a 100% certain answer, but as a reference indicator to aid your purchasing decisions. Our goal is to continuously improve accuracy, and the feedback you provide is of great help.

You can save your preferred results to review them later. On the settings screen, you can select your preferred language between Korean and English, and also view instructions on how to use the app as well as general tips to help you choose a watermelon. In the "More" menu, you can review your saved judgment records and organize them all at once if needed.

Subak Toktok can be used immediately without logging in or signing up. Photos taken and audio recorded are discarded on the spot after analysis is complete, without being stored on a server. Even if you leave feedback, it is stored completely anonymously without your name or device information. The app is provided for free and is operated through advertisements.
