EBOLA TRACKER — Live outbreak news, sourced.

A free public-information tracker for the current Ebola situation in
Central and West Africa and globally. Built around credible sources, not
invented numbers.

WHAT YOU GET

• Live Ebola news, refreshed throughout the day, aggregated from WHO,
CDC, PAHO, ECDC, ReliefWeb (UN OCHA), GDELT, and major news outlets
(Reuters, BBC, The New York Times, NBC, AP, Al Jazeera, France 24,
CNN and others). English and French coverage so DRC, Guinea and other
francophone-Africa reporting comes through.

• Country activity map — countries where credible sources are currently
reporting Ebola, with the latest headline and source for each. Markers
are country-level (not precise case locations).

• Outbreak tracker — when a credible source states cumulative case or
death numbers (most reliably in a WHO, Africa CDC or ReliefWeb
situation-report summary), the app shows the largest reported figure,
always attributed: "as reported by {source}, {date}". One tap opens
the original to verify.

• In-app briefing for every article — a short, attributed in-our-words
summary, plus context on what each verification level means and, for
items linked to public-health authorities, the source's own fuller
syndication summary. The original article is always one tap away.

• Daily and breaking-alert push notifications (Android 14/15 compatible).

• Contact log — a private, on-device record of recent close contacts.
Useful for personal awareness during an active outbreak. Never leaves
your device.

• Quick links to the official Ebola pages at WHO, CDC and Africa CDC.

HOW WE HANDLE DATA, HONESTLY

Every figure shown in the app is a number a named source stated, with
its date and a link. Ebola Tracker does not produce its own count, does
not estimate, and does not reproduce publishers' article text — only
headlines, attributed summaries and the sources' own syndication
snippets. Reports lag real events; always verify via the linked source.

WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT

• No personal health data.
• No account, no sign-in.
• Location is optional and used only on-device to compute distance to
the nearest reported region — never sent anywhere, never stored. You
can decline; everything else still works.
