LingoSwap: Language Exchange

A language starts to click when you use it with another person.

LingoSwap gives you two ways to begin. Match with someone who is ready now in Quick Practice, or browse the Community and choose who you would like to meet. Either way, the idea is simple: you help with the language you know well; they help you with the one you want to learn.

HOW QUICK PRACTICE WORKS

Choose the language you want to practise and your level, then join the queue. When LingoSwap finds someone suitable, you see their profile first. The live session begins only if you both accept. You can play a mini-game while you wait or stop searching whenever you like.

KEEP LEARNING WITH FRIENDS

Browse profiles in the Community and send a friend request when you find someone you would like to learn with. Once you both accept, you can chat, talk face to face and plan a one-off or weekly session together.

TURN CONVERSATIONS INTO PROGRESS

• Translate messages and help each other phrase things more naturally.
• Save useful expressions to your Phrasebook and go back to them at the right time.
• Rebuild your saved phrases word by word in Sentence Builder.
• Play Word Rain on your own, with a friend or in a public race.
• Keep an eye on your practice time, level and progress.

Your first sentence does not have to be perfect. Write it, see how another learner would say it, then return the favour in your own language. With every correction and every short conversation, the language becomes a little more a part of your day.

YOU ARE IN CONTROL

A Quick Practice session starts only after both people accept. In the Community, messaging and calls stay locked until a friendship is mutual. You can report a message, photo or video and block anyone in one tap. Live sessions are never recorded or stored by us.

LingoSwap is free, with no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases. We collect only what the app needs to work and never sell your data.
