HOW SPADES PLAYS
Call your shot, then deliver it. Bid the number of tricks you think you can win, then fight to hit that number exactly. Spades are always trump. Make your bid to score, and read the table to avoid the overtricks that pile up as bags.

- Nil bids — commit to winning zero tricks for a big bonus, or a big penalty if you slip.
- Bags carry over, and every ten of them costs you 100 points, so precision beats greed.
- Team up with a partner at a four-player table, or play every seat for yourself.
- Race to 500, or set a shorter 200-point target for a quick match or 800 for a longer one.
