Review summary

Quire offers a powerful, tree-based task management system with built-in Kanban, calendar, and time tracking, plus an easy-to-use interface that suits personal use and ADHD-friendly workflows. However, reviews note friction with the free plan (project limits), reliability issues (spinning and crashes), and onboarding/authentication problems (forced sign-up and occasional logouts). Overall it’s a strong, feature-rich organizer that shines in structure and depth but has notable friction points around sign-up, stability, and the free tier.
Pros
  • Powerful tree-structured task management with deep nesting of sub-tasks.
  • All-in-one feature set built in (Kanban, calendar scheduling, time tracking) reduces reliance on external tools.
  • Easy-to-use, intuitive interface that keeps tasks well organized and accessible.
  • Strong suitability for personal use (ADHD-friendly) with a capable free tier for basic task management.
Cons
  • Free plan limits projects to a small number (e.g., four) on the free tier.
  • Stability and reliability issues: occasional crashes/spinning/loading problems and stuck transitions.
  • Onboarding and sign-in friction: forced account creation before exploring and intermittent login/logout problems.

I still haven't found a better to-do list app than Quire. All miss the nested task with rich notes. Note that projects have a maximum of 1000 tasks. You must specifically delete past "done" tasks to release some quota. Also, the app can feel a bit overcomplicated with the concepts of projects and workspaces.

Quire itself is great but this app is annoying. the widget is cumbersome to jot down a quick task - you can't reorder items without giving them ordered due dates and the majority of the time it spews "can't reach quite" when the internet connection is fine. Down to 1 star because years later it's still trash. new tasks don't appear until 5s+ after you create them; often just crashes trying to open the new task form; none of the previous concerns improved
