User Reviews

Users appreciate iVoca's extensive vocabulary categories and effective learning approach, comparing it favorably to similar apps like Drops. The interface is considered good and simple by many. However, common complaints include frequent intrusive ads, translation errors, non-intuitive activity design, and issues with listening exercises. Users also desire more features such as manual word input, speaking practice, and better tools to track learning progress. Despite its flaws, many find it helpful and enjoyable for language vocabulary building.
Pros
  • Good design and interface that is visually appealing and simple to use.
  • Wide range of vocabulary with various categories and many languages supported.
  • Effective and enjoyable for vocabulary learning and memorization similar to or better than competitors like Drops.
  • Free version offers significant access and learning freedom, with reasonable ad tolerance for some users.
  • Includes useful features like vocabulary repetition methods, phrase pronunciation, and recording for practice.
Cons
  • Incorrect or faulty translations found in multiple languages, requiring users to verify learned content.
  • Intrusive, frequent ads interrupt learning; some ads are hard to close, causing frustration.
  • Some interface and activity flow are non-intuitive and frustrating to users.
  • Listening/pronunciation practice features sometimes do not work or load slowly, including issues with TTS and microphone usage.
  • Limited ability to write words manually or practice speaking; also lack of features like bookmarking, overview of learned words, and furigana/pinyin for certain languages.

a really good design for learning vocabulary, but some of the translations are wrong. for example, one second in russian is секунда, second place is второй, these have been mistakenly swapped. so make sure to double check what you learn, these are mistakes you are just guaranteed to find when using something with such a massive selection

Has incorrect translations. I am learning Turkish on this app, and eye pupil isn't öğrenci, but göz bebeği and second as in time isn't ikinci, but saniye.
