Tangleout: Untangle Threads

Tangleout is a calm logic puzzle about threads of light woven across a dark loom.

Tap a thread and it slides head-first along its own path and off the board, unless another thread is in its way. Work out the right order, clear every thread, and the board is solved. Make three mistakes and the light goes out.

HOW IT PLAYS
• Tap a thread to send it out along its arrow.
• Tapping a blocked thread is a mistake and costs one of your three lights.
• Hold a finger on a thread to trace its line of flight before you commit.
• Pinch to zoom and drag to pan on the big boards.
• Clear half of a board's threads to win a lost light back.

2000 LEVELS, EVERY ONE SOLVABLE
No board ever needs a guess. The first five teach one idea each; after that, boards fill with long, winding threads that fold like a maze. Each block of ten levels rides a rhythm of easy, normal and hard boards and ends on a large silhouette puzzle: a heart, a diamond, a ring, a spiral and more.

NEW RULES AS YOU GO
• Locked threads wait for their key thread to leave first.
• Linked threads leave together, so both need a clear way out.
• Ropes wrap around other threads, which stay inside until the rope has left.
• Two-headed threads leave by whichever end you tap.
• Portals: a thread that leaves through a glowing door comes back in through its twin.
• Fog hides part of the board until you have cleared enough threads.
• Gates bar part of the edge until enough threads have left.
• Colour gates let only their own colour out until none of it is left.
• Embers count down as threads leave: send them off in time, or lose a light.
• Sleeping threads hide their arrow until a thread beside them leaves.
• Counter threads wait until enough other threads have left.
• Mirrors turn a thread that flies over them, so its way out bends.
• Swing mirrors turn with a tap, and with every thread that flies over them.
• Flippers move their arrow to the other end after every move.
• Ice freezes a thread until you hit its glowing spot with the slingshot.
• Blinkers are short walls that open and shut with every move.
• Tunnels: a thread that flies onto a round pad comes out of its twin and flies on.
• Seesaws: a lever holds two short walls, one open and one shut. Tap it and they swap.

A NEW PUZZLE EVERY DAY
The daily puzzle is the same for everyone: gentle on Mondays, toughest on Sundays. From Monday to Saturday each day adds its own rule, such as Portal day, Thick fog or Ember day. Solve it to keep your streak going, which earns hints as it grows, and fill the month calendar. Missed a day? Tap it in the calendar and play it any time.

• Challenge a friend: share a sprint, and they play the same boards against your score.
• Fast marks: clear a level with no mistake inside its target time and earn a bolt.
