Kept: Receipt & Document Vault

Your paper receipt can fade in months. Your return window or warranty may last much longer. And the documents that cost real money when they lapse — vehicle insurance, road tax (rovinieta), vehicle inspection (ITP), home insurance, service contracts — expire on dates nobody remembers.

Kept keeps proof and deadlines in one private vault: receipt images with their return windows and warranty dates, and expiring personal documents with their own expiry reminders.

What Kept does:

- Save receipt images with product details, merchant, price, dates, category, and notes.
- Track return windows and warranty deadlines in one local vault.
- Save expiring personal documents — vehicle insurance, vehicle inspection (ITP), road tax (rovinieta), home insurance, service contracts, or your own custom types — with issuer, subject, reference number, issue date, and expiry date.
- Remind you before returns close, warranties end, and documents expire, with local, approximate daily checks. Every document's reminder schedule is editable.
- Search receipts by product, merchant, and notes, and documents by title, subject, issuer, and notes — each shelf has its own search.
- Archive handled entries without losing them.
- Export and import a ZIP backup that you control.

Privacy is the point:

- No account.
- No Kept cloud.
- No backend server.
- Receipt images and document images stay in app-private storage on your device.
- OCR runs on device and only helps fill editable fields when you add a receipt. Documents do not use OCR.
- Backups are files you create and save through Android's system file picker.

One honest limit: Kept has no app lock yet, so it isn't the place for ID cards, passports, or driving licences. There is no identity-document type.

Free users can keep up to 15 active entries, pooled across receipts, warranties, and documents together — one shared allowance, not one per type. Kept Pro is a one-time Google Play purchase that removes the active-entry limit. Existing entries, viewing, editing, archiving, deleting, export, import, reminders, scanner, and settings remain available.

Kept is not an accounting app, tax tool, cloud backup service, or warranty claim service. OCR is assistive and editable, and reminders use Android's approximate background scheduling rather than exact alarms.
