User Reviews

Users find the Intention add-on highly effective for reducing time wasted on distracting websites like YouTube and social media, aiding productivity by making them more aware of their browsing habits through timers and time tracking. Being free adds value. However, some users dislike that the blocked page remains visible, and the side window can be annoying. Additionally, requests for 5-star ratings may detract from the experience.
Pros
  • Effectively reduces time spent on distracting sites like YouTube and social media.
  • Helps increase productivity by adding a timer that creates friction against mindless browsing.
  • Free to use, providing value without cost.
  • Makes users more aware of their browsing habits through time tracking.
Cons
  • Allows users to see the blocked page, which some find reduces effectiveness.
  • The side window that appears can be annoying even if it can be closed.
  • Requests for 5-star ratings can be off-putting to some users.

Really great extension! Been using it the past week or so to manage my usage with one website. There is already a good amount of customization to be had; however, I wish there was just a little bit more there. For example, I wish that, when you start a productive session, you could move around where the intention is on the screen rather than have it on the bottom (inconvenient for me when I do use my distracting website), or at least have a setting to change the position to top, bottom, left, right, etc. I would also like to see the ability to customize how long automatic cooldowns last (they're currently 30 seconds). And it would be nice to see some sort of protection against changing the settings, like waiting for a timer or having to put in a password. I've had to manage the easy access to the extension's settings using another app blocker to stop myself from removing the website from my distracting sites list. Overall, love the concept of this and have been finding success with another small modification using an app blocker on my part, but would just like to see the ability to further customize features and settings.
