About The Permissions
Away asks only for what blocking needs, and it tells you what each one is for:

- Usage access, to see which app is open so it can step in
- Display over other apps, to show the focus screen on top of a blocked app
- Notifications, for round finished and break over

All of them are optional. Skip one and the app still works, with that feature clearly marked as unavailable. Away does not use an accessibility service, and nothing it reads about your apps ever leaves your device.
