Features & Capabilities

Infinite Refresh is a privacy-first browser extension that safely removes cookies, cache, and other stored data — automatically, on your schedule. Keep your trusted sites logged in while everything else gets cleaned up in the background.

How It Works

Most privacy tools are all-or-nothing. They either log you out of everything (like incognito) or leave you exposed. Infinite Refresh bridges that gap:

  • Set your preferences — choose which storage types to clean and how often (every 30 seconds up to every 2 hours).
  • Trust the sites you love — add domains to your allowlist so they are never touched. Your logins, sessions, and preferences stay intact.
  • Let it run — automatic cleanup runs silently in the background. No popups, no interruptions.
Key Features

Automatic Cleanup Engine Removes cookies, cache, localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, service worker registrations, and more from every untrusted site. Configurable frequency from 30 seconds to 2 hours.

Trusted Allow list Add domains to your allow list and they are skipped during every cleanup. Add sites manually, import from your bookmarks, or use the "Add Tab" shortcut. Right-click any page to add it instantly via the context menu.

Cross-Device Sync (optional, with free account) Create a free account with just your name and email. Your allowlist, cleanup frequency, theme, and telemetry preference sync across all your browsers and devices automatically.

Granular Controls Choose exactly what gets cleaned: cookies, cache, browsing history (optional permission), bookmarks (optional permission), localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, service workers, and more.

Right-Click Context Menu Quickly run cleanup or add the current site to your allowlist directly from the right-click menu — no need to open the popup.

Privacy Dashboard The extension popup shows your cleanup metrics, allowlist, frequency settings, and recent results at a glance.

Import Bookmarks Bootstrap your allowlist by importing all your bookmarked domains in one click.

Telemetry (fully opt-in) Anonymous usage data helps us improve the extension. No browsing content is ever collected.

Privacy First

  • No tracking — we do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting.
  • No data collection — your browsing data stays on your device. All cleanup happens locally.
  • Open source — anyone can audit our code to verify our privacy claims.
  • Optional permissions — history and bookmarks permissions are requested only when you use those features.
  • Minimal network requests — the extension only contacts our API for account sync (opt-in), license verification, and contact form submissions.
Permissions Explained
  • storage — local settings & allowlist persistence
  • tabs — current tab URL for "Add Tab" and context menu
  • cookies — remove cookies from untrusted sites only
  • browsingData — clear cache, localStorage, IndexedDB, etc.
  • alarms — schedule automatic cleanup intervals
  • contextMenus — right-click "Run Cleanup" and "Add to allowlist"
  • <all_urls> — host permission needed to clean any site's data
  • history (optional) — clear browsing history when enabled
  • bookmarks (optional) — import bookmark domains to allowlist
  • No remote code execution — no eval, no remote scripts, all JS bundled locally

Is Infinite Refresh Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Infinite Refresh requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
