User reviews

Users appreciate the Oxylabs Proxy Extension for its simplicity, ease of use, and support for multiple proxies with authentication. However, frequent complaints highlight missing SOCKS5 support, unreliable persistence of proxy settings after browser restarts, annoying bugs affecting proxy management, and absence of advanced features that could enhance usability and control. Overall, while functional and fast, the extension requires improvements in stability and feature set to fully satisfy users.
Pros
  • Easy to use and configure with a simple, minimalist interface
  • Supports adding and managing multiple proxies including HTTP proxies with authentication
  • Allows importing and exporting proxies, facilitating batch management
  • Works well with Oxylabs proxies and other providers
  • Fast connection and reliable switching between proxies
Cons
  • Lack of SOCKS5 proxy support after recent updates, which frustrates users
  • Proxy settings and credentials often fail to persist after browser restart, causing inconvenience and potential issues
  • Bugs with proxy management such as proxies disappearing unexpectedly and drag-and-drop swapping proxies erroneously
  • Missing advanced features like whitelist/blacklist sites, custom badge text, auto proxy checking, and PAC file support
  • Occasional UI issues like inability to scroll to add new proxies and wrong proxy status indicated in toolbar icon

Appreciate you adding the new import/export feature and adding the SOCKS5 option back in. But i like to report an issue I noticed: 1. The import feature is not working for SOCKS5, only works with the HTTP. 2. And the proxy name does not get export into the json file. Making importing batch of new proxy a bit of a hassle, as you will need to manually rename each of them after importing.
