MedCounter: Pharmacy Billing

MedCounter is billing and stock software for Indian medical stores, built to run on the phone already in your pocket. No computer, no server, no week of training.

Open the app, search or scan a medicine, and hand over a proper GST bill in under a minute. Stock, expiry, khaata and your distributor accounts all update themselves as you bill.

BILLING AT COUNTER SPEED

• Search a built-in catalogue of over 2.5 lakh Indian medicines, or scan the barcode on the pack
• Sell a full strip or 4 loose tablets. The app does the unit maths and prices it correctly
• GST, HSN and round-off calculated on every bill, so the total is right the first time
• Discount per item or on the whole bill, with a ceiling you set for your staff
• Type or scan a batch number to bill the exact batch in your hand

STOCK THAT KEEPS ITSELF STRAIGHT

• Every sale is deducted from the batch expiring first, automatically, so old stock moves before it turns into a loss
• Alerts before an item runs low or a batch nears expiry
• Batch-wise stock with expiry date, purchase rate and MRP
• Write off expired or damaged stock, or send it back to the distributor, and the register records which

RESTOCK WITHOUT DATA ENTRY

THE REGISTERS YOU ARE INSPECTED ON

• Schedule H1, Schedule X and NDPS: the register under Rule 65 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, filled as you bill instead of the night before an inspection
• Patient and prescribing doctor's details taken at the counter, with an optional photo of the prescription
• Over 33,000 medicines in the catalogue are already marked H1, so the app asks for those details at the right moment
• Expiry and breakage register, kept separately for stock destroyed and stock returned, because only one of the two reverses your input tax credit
• A reminder before your drug licence expires

GETTING STARTED

Sign in with Google, enter your shop name and drug licence details, and you can bill your first customer straight away. New shops begin on a free trial, and the plans are listed inside the app.

MedCounter is built alongside chemists in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, and it still changes based on what shop owners tell us. If something is missing, or gets in your way at the counter, write to us.
