MarCat — Shop Local Stores

MarCat lets you discover the kirana stores in your neighborhood, browse what they actually stock, and place orders directly from them. Not a central warehouse aggregator—orders are fulfilled directly by the partnered store you order from.

Built for Indian shoppers who prefer their local kirana and want a smoother way to buy from them.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Discover stores near you (we use location to show stores that serve your delivery area)
2. Browse each store's live inventory and prices
3. Add items to your cart and place your order
4. Pay using the methods your store supports—typically cash on delivery or UPI
5. Get order confirmation and updates from your store

WHY MARCAT
• Real local stores—not warehouse fulfillment
• Prices are set by each store—no platform surge layer
• Minimum order values, if any, are set by your store and shown before checkout
• You order from a store you already know and trust
• The shopkeeper sees the order on their till—the same person you would meet in store

SIGN IN
Sign in quickly with your Google account. We receive your email, your display name, and your profile picture from Google to create your MarCat shopper profile. We do not access your contacts, calendar, drive, or any other Google data. You can revoke MarCat's access any time from your Google account.

LOCATION
We use your location to filter the store discovery feed to shops that actually deliver to your area. Your location is processed in the app and on MarCat servers only — never sold, never shared with advertisers, never used for cross-app tracking.

NOTIFICATIONS
We send order-status notifications so you know when your order is confirmed and updated. Notifications may vibrate your device.

PRIVACY & DATA HANDLING
• Account identity (via Google Sign-In)—email, name, profile picture, Google account ID—used only for sign-in
• Location—used only to filter the discovery feed; not shared with third parties
• Order data—delivery address and order amount — shared only with the retailer fulfilling your order
• Data processors: Google (Sign-In), Supabase (data hosting), Vercel (web hosting), Razorpay (where the store accepts online payment)
• We do not use your data to train AI models or for advertising

MarCat is not directed to children under 13.
