MIWB Census

MIWB Census is a Chrome extension built for the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation to support the 7th Minor Irrigation and 2nd Water Bodies Census. Enumerators use the mobile app to collect data on groundwater and surface water schemes and water bodies at village or ward level, across blocks, districts and states. It supports offline data entry and online sync, ensuring data can be captured in remote areas and uploaded when connected to the central server. The canvassed schedules are stored in the app, and can be edited or deleted as needed.

Key features include capturing geo-coordinates and photos of all schemes and water bodies, reverse GIS validation to match locations with village boundaries, and GPS retake prompts if needed. If a precise location cannot be captured, users can bypass the step to continue data collection. The app also pre-populates previous census data wherever groundwater and census codes match, enabling smooth and efficient data entry for field staff.
