User Reviews

Users appreciate Chess Puzzles as a lightweight, beginner-friendly app with a vast collection of puzzles that effectively aid skill development. The interface is smooth and easy to use, and it caters to all ages. However, multiple reviews note the absence of ad-removal options, issues with puzzle repetition, and missing features such as the ability to revisit solved puzzles and mute sounds. Some puzzles have bugs or validation errors, and animation smoothness could be improved. Overall, it's a valuable tool for chess training but could benefit from enhanced usability and customization.
Pros
  • App offers a large collection of chess puzzles suitable for beginners and intermediate players.
  • Interface and board design are smooth and easy to use, similar to popular apps like Lichess.
  • Great for training chess tactics and pattern recognition, helping improve skills across opening, middlegame, and endgame.
  • Lightweight app that is accessible to users of all ages, including kids with basic chess knowledge.
  • Provides puzzles of varying complexity, making it engaging and challenging for different skill levels.
Cons
  • No option to remove ads via payment; ads are compulsory and sometimes intrusive with unskippable segments.
  • Lack of customization options for board and pieces appearance.
  • Users cannot review or go back to previously solved puzzles, limiting learning and analysis.
  • App lacks sound mute controls, which interrupts music playback during use.
  • Some puzzles contain bugs or incorrect move validations, e.g., illegal moves flagged incorrectly in mate in 3 puzzles.
  • Repeated puzzles appear frequently, leading to less diversity in challenges.
  • Animations and transitions could be smoother; piece animations can be too fast or confusing.
Recent reviews
It's a good app. But only drawback is that it doesn't have opton to remove ads by making payment. You have to bear the ads compulsorily.

Overall it's a good collection. Boards and interface looks like lichess. But it would be nice if we had board and pieces customization options.
