eGate NG

eGate NG is a digital gate management system designed for use by students, wardens, and security personnel within the National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa) community. It replaces the traditional paper-based gate pass system with a seamless, QR code-powered mobile experience.

For Day Scholars Day scholars can generate a digital QR-based gate pass with a single tap. The QR code is cached locally, so it works even without an internet connection. Security personnel scan the QR at the gate for instant verification — no more carrying physical ID cards or filling out registers.

For Hostellers Hostel students can apply for leave directly through the app by specifying their destination, travel dates, and guardian contact details. Once the warden approves the request, a QR-based exit pass is automatically generated. Students can track their leave status in real time and even apply for extensions if needed.

For Wardens Wardens have a dedicated dashboard to view, approve, or reject leave applications. They can access complete leave history, monitor active passes, and manage student requests efficiently — all from their mobile device.

Vehicle Entry Management Students can submit visitor vehicle entry requests for parents, guardians, or other authorized guests. The request is sent to the vehicle authority for approval. Once approved, a vehicle pass is generated with all relevant details. This ensures smooth and authorized vehicle entry on campus.

Security & Privacy The app uses Google Sign-In restricted to NIT Goa institutional email addresses (@nitgoa.ac.in), ensuring only authorized users can access the system. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS, and screenshots are disabled within the app to prevent misuse of QR codes. The app does not collect any unnecessary personal data.
