ImageSEO Inspector Firefox

ImageSEO Inspector

Audit image SEO, alt text, accessibility and technical image issues directly on any webpage. Local-first, developer-focused.

Features & Capabilities

ImageSEO Inspector is a developer-focused browser extension that audits images on any webpage for SEO, accessibility, and technical performance issues. Scan any page instantly to get a complete breakdown of every image element.

Key Features

  • Alt Text Analysis: Detects missing alt attributes, empty alt text, generic or keyword-stuffed alt, alt text that repeats filenames, and overly long descriptions. Each image gets a quality rating with actionable recommendations.
  • Accessibility Scoring: Evaluates images for screen reader compatibility, decorative image detection, missing dimensions causing layout shift, and broken image references.
  • Technical Image Audit: Checks image formats (WebP, AVIF, JPEG, PNG, SVG), natural vs rendered dimensions, srcset usage, lazy loading, decoding attributes, fetch priority, and likely LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) image identification.
  • Visual Alt Text Overlay: Toggle green and red labels directly on the page over each image. Green means alt text exists, red means it is missing. Each label includes a one-click copy button so you can grab the alt text instantly.
  • Export Reports: Download audit results in CSV, TSV, JSON, Markdown, or XLSX format. Filter and sort images before exporting. Include or exclude technical fields and recommendations based on your needs.
  • CMS Detection: Automatically detects WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, Drupal, and Ghost so you can contextualize image issues by platform.
  • Right-Click Context Menu: Inspect any image instantly, copy its alt text, or toggle the alt text overlay without opening the side panel.
  • Local-First Privacy: All analysis runs entirely in your browser. No data is transmitted to any server. No analytics, no tracking, no remote code. Your browsing data never leaves your device.
How It Works

Click the extension icon to open the side panel, then hit Scan. The extension reads all image elements on the page, analyzes their alt text quality, technical attributes, and surrounding context, then displays results with scores for alt quality, accessibility, and technical health. Click any image card to see full diagnostics with fix recommendations.

Who Is It For

SEO professionals auditing client websites, web developers fixing accessibility issues, content teams checking alt text coverage, and QA engineers verifying image optimization before deployment.
