User Reviews

Users praise reduced disconnects, a cleaner interface, and better temperature control compared with earlier versions and Kumo. However, scheduling remains flaky, devices can disappear or fail to reconnect, and updates can be buggy or intrusive. The overall sentiment is cautiously positive, acknowledging progress in reliability and usability while calling for more stable scheduling, consistent device discovery, and less aggressive, better-tested updates.
Pros
  • Reliability and connectivity improved; devices no longer frequently disconnect compared with older versions and Kumo Cloud.
  • Positive UI/UX evolution; recent updates described as much better and more user-friendly.
  • Temperature adjustment behavior is more stable after the latest update, with a Confirm button preventing unintended rapid changes.
  • Scheduling feature added/improved, giving more control and better alignment with hardware.
  • Overall app experience is more favorable than earlier versions and the Kumo Cloud app.
Cons
  • Scheduling is unreliable: schedules disappear, show wrong times, ignore time zones, and can’t always be re-enabled.
  • Setup and connectivity problems persist: difficulty adding devices, Wi-Fi setup failures, persistent network errors, and devices disappearing or failing to reconnect.
  • Buggy updates and feature creep: new bugs after updates, false update prompts, and changes that remove or force permissions users don’t want.
  • UI changes are not consistently intuitive: information is harder to find, and some controls don’t mirror the thermostat or are confusing to use.
  • Auto-updates without consent and privacy concerns: upgrades installed without permission and some permission requirements (e.g., camera-based steps).

Now it never connects. And my old winter schedule is stuck somehow, so everyday its 80 degrees. Stinks!

Not sure what (if anything) I’m doing wrong, but the Comfort app keeps turning on my new (Mitsu Hyperheat) system pretty much every time it hits a new setting time, even when the temperature is perfectly between the limits set. For instance, at 8p (bedtime for us) every day, my summer schedule setting is heat-at-60F, cool-at-76. I took a screenshot the other night when it turned on at 8p: it said “currently” 69F (our windows were open and that was (roughly) the outdoor temp - very comfy sleeping temps for us). But the system went into cool mode, blowing cool air, yet showing a target temperature of 76. ?!? At first I thought I had reversed the cool and heat settings, but found I hadn’t - the app won’t let you set a cool-on temp target lower than your heat-on temp. Checking overall power usage when it does this, it steps up beyond that seen with just the fan on - so it sure looks like it’s actively trying to cool down our house when indoor temp is in the desired range and the windows are open. So now, most nights and sometimes during the day, I have to manually shut the system down or let the system run fruitlessly. I’ve deleted the schedule and redid it, and nothing changed/improved. I finally let the app update itself today to the “new, easier” scheduling, but I’m not holding my breath. And tech support for this app seems essentially nonexistent at Mitsubishi or the Mitsubishi Comfort app site , so I thought I’d try here.

Please update your temperature setpoint so there can be a better comfort control and efficient running of your system. Your auto dry temp adjustment screen is exactly what we need! You select a desired setpoint temp and be able to select 1-5deg up and down for comfort dead band. Many other brands have this option, not sure why this isn’t a simple add on option. Many people have moved away from Mitsubishi because of this.
