Race Master Sail Timer + Speed is a dedicated sailing watch app for iPhone and Apple Watch that combines a powerful countdown timer with GPS-based speed and course data. It supports ISAF-style countdown sequences (5-4-1-0 by default), configurable warnings, and a Gun! trigger for race starts. If a signal is mistaken for a start, you can jump back to the previous timer with ease.

With optional GPS, you’ll see Speed Over Ground (SOG) and Course Over Ground (COG) alongside the timer, plus a wind graph to help you track shifts. The app works on iPhone and Apple Watch (and is usable on iPad), includes HealthKit integration for sailing workouts, and offers two in-app subscriptions for ongoing development and feature access.

i love this app, but when i hit finish and close the app, i don’t want it magically reopening and hijacking my watch and phone. i force close the app? doesn’t matter, it just loads up again even though i’m miles away from the water. the alerts, the syncing, readouts… i love it all. just please stop with the unwanted reopening of the app. add a button that says something like “done racing for the day?” and the app stays closed until the next time i open it. it’s so annoying i’ve deleted app until this is fixed. this unwanted feature broke me. i’m done
