Principle Mirror is widely praised for fast, reliable operation, ease of use, and on-device interactivity that makes demos easy and impactful. Reviewers cite its strong animation tooling and the ability to store projects for client demos. However, it struggles with stability and UI bugs (random freezes, scrolling issues, restart gestures, and yellow boxes), plus font handling (non‑system fonts not packaged). Many users also want wireless/mirroring support and smoother performance with large files and sharing/tester workflows. Overall, powerful but in need of stability and feature polish.

Fast, smooth performance that reliably does what it’s supposed to.

Powerful prototyping tool with strong animation capabilities.

Cons

Stability issues: frequent freezes and crashes.
UI/interaction bugs: scrolling not working on iPhone X, page state resets, and visual glitches like yellow boxes; restart gesture unreliable.
Font support is missing: non-system fonts aren’t packaged and are substituted with Helvetica.
Lack of wireless/mirroring: no Wi‑Fi live mirroring or wireless updates.
Performance problems with large files and lag.

Pretty frustrating since most apple laptops don’t have a USB port anymore. It would be great to support over WiFi

If I want to share a .prd file with someone to test a prototype they are unable to open the file in their Principle app. I want to share a link to the .prd via Dropbox. But when they download the file on mobile safari and tap “Open with Principle” under share, the file does not open. Impossible to share prototypes with team or testers.
