User Reviews

Users value vitals tracking and sharing but report data-management problems, tedious food logging, login hurdles, limited Apple Health sync, and reliability issues.
Pros
  • Clear at-a-glance tracking of vitals and activity.
  • Ability to share blood pressure readings with a provider.
  • Automatic weight data syncing from a Livongo scale (hands-free logging).
  • Large database of foods with calorie information.
Cons
  • Cannot delete readings or separate data for multiple users; spouse data mixed with mine.
  • Cumbersome food logging with poor search; no favorites or saved meals; frequent entry errors.
  • Login/auth issues and password/reset problems.
  • Limited Apple Health integration; BP/weight do not sync, only steps.
  • Frequent update prompts and reliability issues; app crashes or won’t open after updates.

I have been using Livongo since March 2023, and I’m happy with the tools I was sent like the blood pressure monitor and scale that record results in my phone app. I also like that I can set reminders to take my blood pressure and weight. That was okay in 2023, but you should be more advanced in 2026! MAJOR CONS: 1. Neither my BLOOD PRESSURE or WEIGHT, which are both imported to the Livongo app via your equipment, can be shared with Apple Health. This means that I cannot share information with my doctor because a simple email of the information your app downloads does not work to get in touch with my medical institution. I need the data to be shared with Apple Health in order to place it in the proper app to be shared with my doctor. 2. Food logging is clunky and needs improvement! Your app does not allow for recipe building, favorite foods and recipes, or barcode scanning. Many apps are now equipped with AI, which do a pretty good job of using a picture to analyze nutrition, especially if someone has entered the meal prior. In order to log a salad, I have to put every single item in separately. This is not how to get follow-through for food logging! 3. I am going to call my insurance company and see if they have another app based program that I can use because I am not getting very much out of Livongo for the price that they are paying.

This app does not let you remove readings from your history. I use it to track my own Blood Pressure, but occasionally my wife uses the meter to spot check herself. My data and hers are combined and I CANNOT clear her readings from mine

I like the ability to see my vitals and activity at a glance, but your food logging leaves much to be desired and is extremely frustrating. Finding things you eat is like pulling teeth, takes forever and then isn’t accurate a calorie or nutritional information, forcing the user to have to figure it out. Very unnecessary and makes me not want to use the app at all. Honestly, it seems that whoever designed and updates the food logging does not live in the same universe as the people who actually need and use the app. 1. It is like pulling teeth to find common items. Example: milk…you have to scroll down to find basic 2% milk. Here’s a hint. The vast majority of people go to the grocery store and buy either whole, 2%, 1% or skim milk…those should be at the top of your list when someone types “milk”, not some 3.4% organic something or other… 2. Basic menu items at restaurants. Example:Chili’s baby back ribs…it’s the most popular item on arguably one of the most popular chains in the country, but nowhere to be found on your app. This app has been out for a long time and with the tools available There is really no excuse for this feature not being better than it is.
