The Particle mobile app is a tool to configure and manage your Particle hardware and cloud deployments. Set up a new device, check device diagnostics, and keep track of which devices are on- and offline with a few taps of the screen.

Control Panel — rename devices, set notes, or even unclaim, all from a single section of the mobile app.

Device Info Screen — view device ID, serial number, Device OS version; plus, you can ping, shout rainbows (signal mode), rename, and edit device notes.

Device list filtering — sort and filter your fleet based on your needs right from the main screen of the app.

The Particle IoT iOS app is seen as useful for quick device checks and basic monitoring, with some onboarding improvements. However, it is hampered by repeated crashes, inconsistent WiFi setup, lack of support for newer hardware and mesh features, flaky mesh setup, and minimal in-app diagnostics or firmware tools. Recent reviews

With the last update being made three years ago (to disable support for setting up the Xenon devices and mesh networks that the company abandoned), this seems like a dead app. They haven’t added support to set up the Photon 2 (which I believe was released over a year ago), and it shows up as an “unknown” device type. I had to use the CLI to set up a new P2 device.

Basic functionality works in low res, not a native ipad app. I like particle products, would be great to have an iPad app with full functionality of web IDE, event monitor etc. built in!!
