Features & Capabilities

Keep track of player substitutions while coaching teams of any sport. Make sure all your players get equal playing time on the field.

The app is especially suitable for teams of children coached by amateurs, typically parents. The app is easy to use and helps you focus on the game instead of the hassle of remembering who's the next substitute. The app will let you know when it is time to make the substitution and which players are next in and out.

The app is designed solely for keeping track of substitutions, one match at a time. The app does not include scores and statistics. We focus on the core functionality of the app in order to keep a clean and easy-to-use user interface.

User Reviews

CoachAny is praised for easy lineup/roster management and timer-driven subs that reduce spreadsheet work, with a clean, simple interface. It helps coaches plan playing time and minimize admin tasks. However, the recurring drawbacks are the need to operate two separate timers without a single pause/resume control, and concerns that equal playing time is not guaranteed. Reviewers also express a desire for feature improvements like period-based subs, a quick next-sub period button, and undo/back options for accidental subs.
Pros
  • Easy-to-use lineup/roster management
  • Timer/subs features that reduce spreadsheet work
  • Clean, simple interface that makes coaching tasks quicker
  • Supports planning for more equal playing time and reduces manual administration
Cons
  • Two separate timers require separate controls; no single pause/resume for both
  • Equal playing time is not guaranteed; time distribution can be uneven

The app is exactly what i need, a roster and a timer for subbing. Unfortunately it doesn’t remember previous games or even the roster after the app is closed. I created a team the night before a game to get ready for it, but the next morning everything was reset and blank. I would’ve had to type in all my names and set the game setttings right before the game started. So the app is a non-starter for me. Pun intended.

Have not used it in a game yet, but seems like it has good potential. Agree with annoyance of having to stop two timers. That seems odd. Would also like a ‘period’ input that allows goalie subs only at end of periods or not at all. Finally, most important suggestion: add button that jumps right to next sub period so coaches can use this to see what final player time would look like. Who has time to let click run all the way down to check to see how equal distribution will eventually be. Also allows me to write baseline sub plan down in advance since often hard to see phone in the sun on field.

Love the lineup management. Easy and straightforward to use. In youth U8, we have 4 periods with 7 minute play and 3 minute breaks. Would be great if I can hit a single pause and play button to stop both the game timer and rotation timer. Unless I’m missing something I have to hit both pause buttons to stop both timers and both to resume after the break. Would be even better if we could specify the number of breaks and time so the timer could manage that as well.
