Xasteria is an ad-free Chrome extension for stargazers. It unites astronomical weather forecasts from 7Timer ASTRO and MET Norway with sky-condition data in one quick view, offering worldwide cloud cover, astronomical seeing, transparency, temperature, humidity, rain/snow, wind, and more. It also provides sun/moon rise and set times and moon phase.

In addition to weather, Xasteria includes tools for observing: aurora forecast, ISS passes, light-pollution maps, and quick access to external maps and imagery. It offers three display modes (7Timer icon/graphic, color-stripe, or raw text) and customizable icons and layers. The app is always ad-free; Xasteria Plus adds extra features like an Apple Watch app, Home Screen widgets, OpenWeather real-time forecasts, Apple Weather, night vision mode, lunar calendar, solar eclipse tools and more.

Love the app. Latest 5.0 release doesn’t scale when viewed vertically on the iPhone. Annoying to rotate horizontally, sometimes requiring 2 hands. I miss the +/- buttons on previous version. The developers are amazingly responsive and have already contacted me for more info on my experience.

Cannot tell what the sky is doing because this app is too hard to see and read. Violates all visual accessibility requirements. Can’t believe developers are still trying to get away with apps that look like this.
