Features & Capabilities

Art of Logic is a picture-perfect nonogram puzzle game. Also known as nonograms, griddlers, picross, paint by numbers, and Hanjie, these puzzles challenge you to reveal a hidden image by counting clues on rows and columns. The game features over 600 puzzles and 90 pictures, with many 25x25 black-and-white grids. Every puzzle has a unique, logic-only solution—no guessing required. Enjoy themed puzzle packs, introductory puzzles to get you started, and detailed artwork that comes together as you solve each set.

Play is designed for precision and flow: a tutorial to learn controls, zooming for easier counts, counting guides, and a supportive hint system that respects your pace. You can place your own controls, use optional checkmarks and x-buttons, and take unlimited undo/redo. Auto-save and auto-restore keep progress across sessions, auto-highlights for completed lines, and even auto-highlights errors that violate clues. With concurrent solving, you can switch between puzzles and solve multiple challenges in one session. Best of all, there are no ads to interrupt your focus. Master the logic, reveal the final image, and enjoy a calm, satisfying puzzle experience.

User Reviews

Art of Logic is praised for its clean, tablet-friendly interface, intuitive controls, and a engaging range of multi-part Nonogram puzzles. Players enjoy the challenge and accessibility on iPad. However, reviews repeatedly flag issues with hints (unhelpful, slow, or monetized), input friction (multi-select and marker switching), a bug with erasing, a too-small working area, and mis-clicks triggering unwanted hints. Overall solid concept with notable polish needed in usability and stability.
Pros
  • Clean, tablet-optimized interface with intuitive controls.
  • Wide variety of puzzles, including multi-part puzzles.
  • Challenging and engaging gameplay that remains easy to pick up.
  • Easy to play with a pleasant user experience on iPad/tablets.
Cons
  • Hint system is unreliable and not very helpful, with long wait times and hints that feel paywalled.
  • Input usability issues: selecting multiple squares is fiddly and switching between black/white markers is clunky.
  • Erase button bug on iPad can cause erasing to fail.
  • Working area on screen is too small; users want a larger working square.
  • Mis-clicks can trigger unwanted hints or mistake alerts.

I have never had such bad hints on any game I’ve ever played. I’ll be working on a 15x30 and the hint fills in a single square. Like these are the most useless hints ever and you have to wait an hour for another one.
