User Reviews

Head Basketball is widely praised for its fun arcade-style gameplay, diverse powers, large character roster, customization, and appealing visuals. Players enjoy the lack of ads and strong replay value. Yet, reviews repeat issues with online play—lag, matchmaking delays, and room creation failures—and bugs affecting core moves. Progression and balance are concerns, with some characters hard to unlock or underpowered and power-ups causing uneven play. Monetization worries persist, including pay-to-win perceptions and pricing glitches. Overall, it’s enjoyable, but online stability, progression balance, and microtransactions need attention.
Pros
  • Fun arcade-style basketball gameplay with a wide variety of powers and modes
  • Rich customization and a large roster of characters, builds, and gear to unlock
  • Great visuals and smooth animations
  • Long-term replay value and nostalgia from years of play
  • Ads-free experience
Cons
  • Online multiplayer often has lag, slow matchmaking, and room creation failures; players also request tournaments
  • Bugs and glitches affect core moves (power shots, dunks) and can eject players from games
  • Unlock progression and character balance feel grindy or imbalanced, with some characters hard to unlock or underpowered
  • Monetization concerns including pay-to-win perceptions and pricing glitches (e.g., misrepresented purchases)
  • Balance issues with power-ups and game mechanics can make matches feel unequal

I like how it is way different but still similar to head soccer. A lot more cleaner. Just love how both games have skill just that you need like max upgrades, power ups, counters. All types of play and variety too. Like the reference too and the many flags. Those types of games are underrated and should be ranked as the best mobile game. My favorite is probably campaign mode. I like Jerome story with a drunk addict and literally wins and motorcycle into the building but the owner still let him drink the beer. Adding more characters is a way to go. Like you could add Kiryu Kazuma, Goro Majima, Tastuya Ukyo, Joe Yakubi, IShowSpeed, Kenshiro, Senator Armstrong, Jetstream Sam, Goku reference again nah wait maybe Perfect cell. Cultured references or maybe twist it up your own with their backstories. Search it up if you don’t know and go watch them. But maybe you got some mechanics too like Kiryu Kazuma and Goro Majima got different style power ups. Won’t be too bad if they have their legend styles too. Have their revelation pose show up. Joe Yakubi would get a passive where he can’t get knocked down when he uses his power ups. Counter would be his cross counter. Like if it hits while the opponent is kicking then it would get a suspension a unique knockdown. Else it would fling and stun them away like the wind power up. And probably like you gotta hit Joe many times until he shoots before he gets to the goal. What I am yapping about maybe i’m off topic and off my mind because I love those power ups and references. Leaving it four stars because I lost the icloud data to the phillipino guy for head boxing. Lost my max stats for no reason.
