Matter Information Not sure which of your colleagues is overseeing the Jones case? Can’t remember the name of your opposing counsel’s assistant? No problem. All of this information can be accessed through the Matters section of CARET Legal Mobile.

Contact Information While your phone has a built-in address book, most attorneys don’t add all of their case-related contacts to this default application. CARET Legal allows you to keep your private contacts and case-related contacts separate by providing you with a contact management system for your cases and your firm.

Email Constantly on the go? CARET Legal Mobile allows you to manage your email messages on the fly. Send, receive and save emails to their respective cases. This email client was designed with attorneys in mind.

Tasks As a busy attorney, you have a seemingly endless to-do list. CARET Legal Mobile makes it easy to keep track of all of your tasks (overdue, current and upcoming). You can also create and assign new tasks to co-workers.

Notes Meeting with a client outside of the office and want to jot down a few notes? CARET Legal features a complete notes system that allows you to easily record new notes and access older ones.

Time Entries In a day full of meetings, it can be difficult to remember exactly how much time was spent at each. CARET Legal Mobile makes it easy to create new time-entries on the go so you never fail to record and consequently bill for your hard work.

Constantly gives errors and developer is unresponsive to reports

The app does not allow reviewing of invoices, severely limiting its functionality. The app and desktop software does not have a draft entry capability, so you have to enter every field in before it will accept the entry, and then cumbersomely open the entry in edit mode to change anything. On the accounting side, basic financial information that every law firm needs (like what has been invoiced for a particular attorney or the firm for a set period) is missing. Only what has been entered into the system. Our outdated and unsupported prior system was much better, frankly.

I was really excited to use Zola Suite after speaking with their sakes rep, Skyela. I jumped right in with both feet & connected LawPay, entered clients, & used the functionality. Right away, it was clunky. You’re limited in the number of calendars you can connect, which for es you to leave the platform often through the day. Each time I left the platform, I realized it took longer for me to return. Personally, I’m looking forward an all-in-one container where I can access everything I need. Each time I leave, my time tracker gets messed up. Each function requires another window to open — it’s not uncommon to have 10+ windows opening. The functionality is far less than Clio. It has a CRM platform built in, but doesn’t really do much more than capture names, and you can’t access it at all in the app. You have to use the web browser. They sell you as if you won’t need a third party accounting system AT ALL! Watch their videos, they push this hard. Except it’s a lie. You can’t run payroll or generate 1099’s. I tried to address the issues with the company and seek discounts so my bookkeeper could access the platform, for example. Skyela literally told me she didn’t care about having us as a client. So… Takeaway: they are willing to work with large firms, not small ones who are growing The “discounted” cost of $1k monthly is per user and to get an assistant, bookkeeper & accountant access, you’re looking at annual fees of $4k, let alone contractors. The functionality isn’t fully built out. The app isn’t entirely functional either. Skip it & go straight to Clio who has years more experience and a better platform.
