FishTrack - Charts & Forecasts

SST, tides, currents, & maps

Overview

Features & Capabilities

FishTrack provides saltwater anglers with cloud-free SST charts, high-definition satellite imagery (including water temperature and water color), currents, tides, moon phase, and marine weather forecasts—all in one layered tool.

Users can mark hot spots, log GPS locations of temperature breaks and color barriers, and save imagery with overlays for offline use to identify bite zones while navigating offshore. Plot waypoints, overlay bathymetry and sea surface height, and view marine weather and your current location even when offline.

User Reviews

Review consensus: FishTrack offers strong SST/current data and helpful navigation features, but users repeatedly encounter serious reliability and data issues. Pros include accurate sea surface temperatures, coordinate-based plotting, ease of use, and flexible pricing. The most cited drawbacks are login/account problems and unstable access; inconsistent data and imagery (including frozen temps/depth and missing waves); ongoing billing and support problems; limited geographic coverage and incomplete maps; and general app loading/crashing problems. Overall, useful when it works, but reliability and data gaps deter use.
Pros
  • Accurate sea surface temperatures and current data, with temps usually close to reported values.
  • Lat/long readings enable direct plotting into chart plotters and help identify warm water and temperature breaks.
  • Easy to download and operate.
  • Pricing flexibility with monthly payment options.
Cons
  • Frequent login/account creation/sign-in issues and unstable account management.
  • Data and imagery quality/availability is inconsistent or poor (outdated temps, depth, bathymetry, true color imagery missing).
  • Billing/subscription problems and unresponsive customer support.
  • Limited geographic coverage and incomplete maps/ imagery (e.g., Gulf of Mexico not covered; maps incomplete; location may be incorrect).
  • App reliability issues including loading crashes and features not working (premium overlays, forecast not accessible).

No info on Gulf of Mexico. And only a selected region are available. Useless to me. Need my money back

Bad: Chlorophyll and current graphs aren't consistently update. Good: sea surface temps are usually pretty close. They also offer monthly payments where as Ripcharts makes you pay out an annual fee.
