Features & Capabilities

Endless Depths 2 RPG is a roguelike, class-based Chrome game that embraces classic dungeon-crawling with modern persistence. Each run launches you into randomly generated levels full of treasure and danger, with one life to live and a growing sense of consequence. What sets this sequel apart is the persistence layer: items, gold, and gems you farm can carry over to new characters, and you can craft items using wealth earned across generations. When you reach Mephistopheles and fail, the game ramps up the challenge in subsequent runs, offering true long-term progression.

Built on the TitanFire RPG system, Endless Depths 2 blends strategic, turn-based combat with a rich class and race system. Start with four classes — Warrior, Adventurer, Cleric, Mage — and unlock over 20 more as you progress. Begin with six basic races — Human, Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Halfling, Half-Ogre — each with a unique ability. The game emphasizes planning and synergy, with farming and crafting reinforcing the idea that your legacy matters. It nods to classics like Rogue, Angband and Diablo while delivering a modern, challenging experience that appeals to fans of permadeath and persistent progression.

User Reviews

Endless Depths 2 RPG is a love letter to classic roguelikes, praised for its old-school feel, deep class/race customization, and high replay value. It remains addictive and engaging, with satisfying skill-based combat and solid controls. However, it suffers from frequent freezes/crashes, no reliable save system, a punishing difficulty curve, and a lack of story or quests. Mechanics can feel opaque without external guidance. Overall, it's a strong pick for hardcore roguelike fans, but stability and guidance improvements are needed to broaden appeal.
Pros
  • Old-school roguelike/dungeon crawler feel reminiscent of Angband/Rogue
  • Deep character progression with multiple classes/races and prestige options
  • High replayability due to randomized dungeons and diverse skill choices
  • Addictive, engaging and challenging gameplay that rewards planning
  • Snappy controls with flexible input options (virtual joystick and tap-to-move)
Cons
  • Frequent freezes/crashes/hangs during combat across multiple devices
  • Lack of save progress feature (no reliable way to save/continue progress)
  • Punishing/difficult balance with potential unfair monster resistances or scaling
  • Lack of overarching story, quests, or clear end-goals (no narrative or party), with requests for more content
  • Some mechanics are opaque or under-documented, making it hard to understand rules without external guides

If you like old school dungeon crawls like Angband and the original Rogue - you’ll love this. Hands down, the best roguelike, the best rpg, the best dungeon crawl on this platform. One of my favorite games on any platform. Love it.

Game play is great for the most part little lacking when it comes to information for this game online to try and learn more about it before diving in but that’s okay. However every time I play without fail I’ll get into some fight and I don’t know what it is my game starts freezing mid fight where I have to quickly close the game and re open it to get one attack in before it freezes again after combat is done it stops being frozen until a few more combats later doesn’t happen every combat but to many of them to count and it’s really annoying.

Doesn't remember the name I picked for my character. Doesn't remember the gear I pick up in the dungeon. Tends to lock up every few minutes. How does it get good reviews in this state? Game is a great example of how suspicious game/app reviews are nowadays.
