User Reviews

PocketGuard is praised for its intuitive interface, strong insights, and granular budgeting features, with hashing for categories and easy tagging. However, users frequently report bank syncing/log-in problems, problematic bill tracking that skews monthly budgets, pricing concerns, and slow support. Overall, it’s a solid budgeting app that’s improving, but reliability and billing transparency are areas for improvement.
Pros
  • Intuitive and easy-to-use budgeting experience.
  • Rich insights and charts for tracking spending over time.
  • Granular categorization and tagging (including hashtags) for budgets and transactions.
  • Supports multi-account budgeting and management of bills/subscriptions and income.
Cons
  • Bank syncing and login reliability issues, including AmEx incompatibility.
  • Billing and pricing transparency concerns, including trial charges and upsell pressure.
  • Bill-tracking design can miscount monthly budgets and double-count recurring payments.
  • Customer support responsiveness and issue resolution can be slow.

This app is way more worse than two years ago. A lot of issues including not able to set my default not counting credit card payment, reset all my previous split transactions

Beware!! This app does not show up as having a subscription in the AppStore settings, so the free trial cannot be cancelled!!! This is horrible!

I would give a better review if the app would allow me to access it, instead all I get is “suspicious ip address”
