Features & Capabilities

LK is a flexible remote control app for Ableton Live and MIDI devices, enabling powerful live and studio workflows. It integrates tightly with Ableton Live via the free UBRIDGE desktop utility (Windows/macOS), offering reliable wired or wireless connections and comprehensive MIDI routing across virtual and external gear.

The app is modular, with six modules available as in‑app purchases: Matrix, PADS, CONTROLLER, X/Y, CHORDER, and KEYBOARD. Each module adds specialized control surfaces and sequencing tools, including Live mode for clip launching, MIDI mode for sequencing, AUv3 integration, USB MIDI support, and expressive mapping via CC, NOTE, and MPE. Tailor LK to your setup and budget with the modules you need.

User Reviews

LK shines for Ableton users thanks to easy setup and reliable live performance, with strong clip-launching, a flexible matrix, and the ability to turn an iPad into several MIDI controllers. It remains actively developed and responds to user feedback. However, its value is marred by required external software for MIDI routing (UBridge and virtual drivers), occasional connectivity and reliability issues, and a price/upsell model that some users view as expensive. Some stability problems and UI quirks also appear, and its feature set may not yet replace all tools you might need in a full production workflow.
Pros
  • Easy to use with Ableton and reliable in live settings.
  • Powerful clip launching and matrix features for triggering notes.
  • Turns iPad into multiple MIDI controllers with versatile control and value.
  • Two-way control script works well and stable USB connection via UBridge after setup.
  • Standalone capability and active development driven by user feedback.
Cons
  • Requires external software (UBridge and virtual MIDI drivers) and multiple setup steps.
  • Connectivity issues, especially initial setup or Windows/Linux connectivity with UBridge.
  • High price with upsells and nonrefundable purchase; some users view it as expensive.
  • Stability problems: UI disappearing and occasional freezing/crashes.
  • Missing many tools/features that rivals offer and not a complete replacement.

The app is missing most of the tools that you may need for a digital midi controller. Even with the full purchase. You can’t just use it as a trusted tool. At the same time it is more expensive and does way less than most of its competitors! And at the same time they don’t accept refund requests! So you end up with useless expensive non refundable app. Search for better alternatives before falling for this.

I’ve been using this app for a little while now and it is so useful. I mainly use the matrix for triggering notes in AUM. I have plenty of tools for automating and modulating CC’s like MLFO for example, but there are times when I just need to record CC’s from a midi controller. In this case, I end up needing to use Atom 2 for example. And if I’m going to use Atom 2 I almost feel like I don’t want to use yet another app like LK to sequence notes when I can already sequence notes and CC’s in Atom 2. I prefer the Ableton clip launching style that LK uses, but sometimes it’s just too many apps when I need to also automate CC’s. I love this app. I use it most of the time,.. but not all the time. Not when I’m really serious about recording my final mix. I would be ecstatic if this feature was added. You have a fantastic application here. It’s an (mostly) essential application for me.
