Review summary

Users report a mix of ease of use and strong mobile access when the scanner connects, but repeat connectivity problems and a lack of key features hurt the experience. The top recurring issues are unreliable Wi-Fi/discovery, no bulk export, and an outdated UI with limited mobile functionality (no OCR, cropping, or renaming). Update frequency also appears sparse, contributing to an abandonware impression. When it works, the device shines for digitizing and accessing scans on mobile.
Pros
  • Easy to set up and straightforward operation.
  • Reliable and simple to use when the scanner is connected.
  • Helps digitize paper clutter and keeps scans accessible on mobile.
  • Mobile access to scans on iPhone/iPad via the app.
  • Wireless connectivity enables sharing/scanning without a computer.
Cons
  • Unreliable Wi-Fi connectivity and discovery; frequent connection failures and required workarounds.
  • No bulk export or batch processing; must export files one by one.
  • Poor UI/UX and outdated feel of the mobile app and web interface.
  • Lack of ongoing updates; app/firmware updates appear scarce or absent.
  • Missing essential mobile features (no native OCR, no cropping/rotation, and inability to rename or easily organize scanned files).

2024-03-15 sm***** For whatever reason, I still have the problem I do years ago I decided to pull it out of the closet, hoping it would serve me a miracle unfortunately, it did not

2024-03-03 Us***** Doxie go se, will not connect to local Wi-Fi. Cannot export multiple files at the same time which is a deal breaker. No options to name scanned files. Web interface is mediocre at best App looks like it was developed by kids. Taking pictures instead of scanning is just more convenient vs scanning. No updates of firmware since 2018

2023-10-09 Ma***** Seriously complicated to connect and see scans, no Doxie app on chrome, hit or miss whether Doxie app finds scanner. I’ve had this thing for years, I want it to be the great answer it’s purported to be, every time I sit down to scan, review and make it all work, I end up frustrated.

2023-05-14 kd***** Consumer level home and mobile scanning which used to be well-above the competition but seems like it might be abandon ware at this point. No new feature updates, UI improvements or new integrations

2022-10-30 Ap***** Using this with Doxie Go SE WiFi. The connection is unreliable and the overall product is poorly designed.

2022-10-09 me***** I scanned hundreds of photos and uploaded them to the iPhone app, only do discover that I have to save them 1 by 1, I cannot select multiple or bulk upload in any way. Pretty sad lack of basic functionality! Wish I had used the desktop app instead the phone app.

2022-04-04 Ar***** I process a lot of files, and ive been using Doxie scanners for a decade; not the company and the hardware have served me very well. I just upgraded to the wireless, model, and gave this app a trial to see how it stacks up against the Mac app. I wasnt very happy with it; what it does, it does well- the setup was easy, the operation straightforward, and… yeah. What it does, it does well. It doesn’t do OCR natively- this is an odd miss, but i can do this elsewhere on the iPad. It doesn’t do batch export: for downloading, prepping and sending out individual files it’s boss, but its no good for doing large file batches. Imported files are not accessible in Files, which would be a simple and useful trick- but Doxie has their own cloud service. Its good for what it does, and i cant ding them for aspirations. I was hoping for better though.

2022-03-01 Ke***** I really thought this would be a great product to use when I could not get to my laptop and printer. I have to print a PDF file that was sent via email. I have been trying now for two days and still can not get the PDF file to convert to JPG file. I am at my wits end. Not at all what I thought this would be. I just can not get the hang of this thing.
