Features & Capabilities

CMonster is a Chrome extension that enables Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) control of Power-Pole hydraulic devices, designed for sport fishing enthusiasts who own compatible equipment.

Note on compatibility: the iOS app supports hydraulic models manufactured after January 2015, with serial numbers ending in AC for the 8’ Blade or AA for other hydraulic models. An add-on module will expand support to additional Power-Pole models in the future.

User Reviews

Most reviews are negative, focusing on chronic connectivity and reliability problems. Users report frequent Bluetooth pairing failures, intermittent or non-existent connections, and instability that sometimes requires complete re-pairing. iOS users face limited functionality and demo-mode issues compared with Android. The Charge feature and newer hardware (Micro Anchor) often fail to pair or read data correctly. Some users see brief success for basic setup, but overall setup is time-consuming and frustrating. Support appears sparse, and the app does not consistently stay connected to multiple poles.
Pros
  • Works amazing for setting up and controlling Power Pole devices.
  • Provides control/features for PowerPole Charge, including battery transfer and emergency start.
  • Some users report long periods of stable use before issues occur.
Cons
  • Frequent Bluetooth pairing/connectivity failures and inability to stay connected to poles or server.
  • App is glitchy and unstable, often requiring re-pairing or restarting.
  • OS/version issues: iOS version has limited functionality and demo-mode differences compared with Android.
  • Charge integration unreliable: app often fails to pair with Charge hardware and to read/controller battery data.
  • Hardware compatibility problems: newer devices like Micro Anchor v2 are not consistently supported and only one pole may be recognized at a time.

This is the single-most frustrating app that I’ve ever used. I finally returned the power pole Charge system as it too caused me nothing but problems and killed two batteries.

App is super glitchy and costs more time than it’s worth.
