User Reviews

Reviews consistently praise its rich Glorantha lore, unique blend of management, RPG, roguelike and choose‑your‑own‑adventure, strong storytelling with consequential choices, and high replayability, plus standout visuals and soundtrack. Common caveats: a steep, sometimes opaque learning curve with unclear mechanics, an endgame that ends too quickly and with limited victory paths, and a noticeable amount of RNG that can feel unfair. A few reports mention occasional crashes and a desire for progress tracking or feedback. Overall, it’s lauded as a bold, immersive sequel to KoDP, with few peers in its niche.
Pros
  • Rich lore and world-building (Glorantha) that deeply appeals to fans and connects to KoDP.
  • Innovative, multi-genre gameplay blending management, RPG, roguelike, and strategy.
  • Compelling storytelling with meaningful, branching choices and consequences.
  • High replayability and variety of paths across playthroughs.
  • Stunning visuals and music with a unique and atmospheric presentation.
Cons
  • Steep learning curve and unclear mechanics that can frustrate new players.
  • Endgame ends too quickly / artificial time limit that shortens the experience.
  • Limited victory paths and endings, making outcomes feel constrained.
  • Significant RNG can feel punishing or unpredictable.
  • Occasional crashes or stability issues reported by players.

Must play for fantasy lovers. The setting, Glorantha, has been lovingly and diligently built since the 60s.

Hey, I don’t think the creator reads these anymore, but I just want to iterate how much joy this series has brought me since I was a wee lad. Since I was a kid I loved these games, possibly king of dragon pass most of all. I’ve never seen something like these done before or since. Very creative and inspirational! Almost wish I could give back somehow. Suppose I’ll have to by creating something of myself someday. Thank you and your group for being creators and for your work.
