User Reviews

Overall, reviews praise the game for its immersive Lovecraftian atmosphere, engaging story and puzzles, strong soundtrack, and charming retro pixel art with good replay value. Major downsides include recurring technical issues (crashes and black screens, especially in chapter 2), accessibility and control problems (hit targets, sound-dependent scenes, no controller support), price/value concerns due to chapter unlocks, and some disturbing content plus visibility/navigation challenges in dark areas.
Pros
  • Immersive atmosphere and psychological horror with Lovecraftian vibes
  • Engaging story with well-designed puzzles
  • Excellent soundtrack and audio design
  • Retro pixel-art visuals that feel charming and distinctive
  • Strong replay value and good value for the price (Season 2 noted as improving)
Cons
  • Frequent technical issues: crashes, freezes, and black-screen bugs, especially in chapter 2
  • Accessibility and control problems: misaligned touch hotspots, scenes requiring sound, lack of controller support
  • Monetization/price concerns: having to buy extra chapters; perceived value not always great
  • Puzzles/visuals can be hard to see or navigate in dark scenes; slow movement in early gameplay
  • Disturbing content in the opening suicide scene may distress some players

It's definitely one of my favorite point n' click adventures i've played. The soundtrack is phenomenal and atmosphere is unparalleled. It only took me a few hours to complete but i've played through it three or four times.

Please add game controller support to this game, if you would be so kind. I had it on Android and I was able to use my Razer. It would control much better. Thank you.
